Visit the Famous Florida Springs

Morrison Springs or Ponce De Leon

Florida’s natural springs have been viral all over social media the past few years, but did you know there are two amazing springs less than 90 minutes away from Pensacola. So, don’t miss your chance to experience the cool clear waters of Florida’s Natural springs.

the water in morrison springs is SO clear

We visited Morrison Springs a couple times and I could never believe how crystal clear the water is. You can see so far with a pair of goggles. However, be prepared for the chilly spring water that sits at 68-60 degrees F all year long.

Morrison springs is surrounded by gorgeous cyprus trees that have large roots under the water.

There is a parking area and several picnic tables at Morrison Springs.

Ponce de Leon is a little more developed and populated. The swimming area is large with a built up concrete platform that goes around as well as a diving platform. They have many picnic tables where you can sit and relax. Read More about Ponce de Leon HERE.

Seaside and 30A

We absolutely love Seaside, Florida and the towns along 30A. As a local Gulf Coast family, we always tell visitors to make as top here. This is the town the Truman Show was filmed and it is one of the only towns in the United States designed to be without cars!

It takes about 2 hours to drive from Pensacola to Seaside and you’ll have to drive through Navarre and Destin — but it is totally worth every second!

Florida Caverns State Park & Falling Waters State Park

Located about 2 hours from Pensacola is one of Florida’s hidden wonders. Florida Caverns State Park is home to the only state park in Florida where visitors can take a guided tour through a large cave system.

We loved exploring these caves and were amazed by underground caverns. At Florida Caverns State park you will see a world of stalactites, stalagmites, and intricate limestone formations.

After exploring the depths of the caverns, head back above ground to enjoy hiking trails, picnicking areas, and even a refreshing dip in the park's spring-fed swimming hole.

With its unique blend of above and below-ground adventures, Florida Caverns State Park offers a day trip experience that is both educational and unforgettable for the whole family.

Along with Florida Caverns State Park, you should plan to stop at Falling Waters State Park to see Florida’s tallest waterfall! Its a very short and easy hike out to see it. After, take a dip in the lake water! Falling Waters is on your way back to Pensacola from Florida Caverns!

Both the caverns and the waterfalls are unique things to do in Florida and fun to spend a day exploring!
